Sasha and
Sampson-Christmas 2000
Hi Renee,
Sorry it's been so long since I've e-mailed. We've had a very busy past
year and a half. Our family has been growing. In February I had a baby boy
(Casey) and I'm pregnant again, also due in February. Sasha & Sampson are
doing great, they love him to pieces. Whenever I turn my back they take the
opportunity to sneak in some big puppy kisses and Casey laughs and giggles,
loving every minute of it. Casey's not at all afraid of them and when they
bark he doesn't even flinch. They could have a wrestling match right next
to Casey while he's sleeping and he never wakes up. Linda says that while
Casey was in the womb he could hear the pups, so it's just natural to him
now. While I was in the hospital Linda kept Sash & Sam and then brought
them home a few days after we came home and helped us introduce everyone.
Once their curiosity died down and Sasha realized that when the baby cried
I would take care of everything, they acted like no big deal, just another
part of the family. As long as they still get all of their loving, which of
course they do, they are as happy as can be. The next step will be when
Casey starts to crawl and walk and I can tell when he looks at the pups
that he can't wait to play with them. We already have Sash & Sam used to
having the tail played with, feet & ears rubbed, no biting when playing,
etc. There isn't anyplace on them that they don't like to be touched so we
just have to teach Casey to play nice with the "puppies". I'm not worried
at all that the 3 (and then 4) of them will be the best of buddies. We
couldn't have found 2 better dogs anywhere - Thank you so much!
Sasha & Sampson have both had their yearly checkups within the past
few
months and both got excellent bills of health. Sasha weighed in at 76 lbs.
and was 2 years old in Feb., and Sampson is close to 90 lbs. and won't be 2
until Nov. They have both completed their on and off leash obedience
training and we hope to have them protection trained within a year or so.
They are both so smart, they just amaze me sometimes with the thought
process that goes into some of the things they do.
I also wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your website. I loved to be able
to see pictures of Sasha & Sampson's parents. I have attached some
pictures. The ones with the red background were taken by a photographer in
December (I was pregnant then).
